Laminates swell when humidity shows up and come in restrictive sizes. Wire shelving bends and usually you have to have something in a bin (things fall through) to store things on it. Stone and metal get heavy and cost-prohibitive fast.

The Toden Surface is a true 1" thick, load-rated surface built for real storage and workspace use—without the weight and maintenance of traditional materials. Its hollow-core structural profile delivers serious rigidity and spans wider with confidence (up to 48") so you can build clean, uninterrupted areas in your home which aren't decorative, but actually perform. It’s designed to tolerate high humidity, extreme cold, and heat without turning into a “wood problem” or rusting out like a "wire problem."

The hollow core isn’t just about strength—it’s what makes the system modular. The internal cavities accept Toden Extension Sleeves so you can extend runs cleanly and keep building as your needs change—without rebuilds, splice plates, or an impromptu remodel.

And unlike basic boards, the Surface is purpose-built with features you’ll use every day: T-slot channels for adjustable accessories, a cable tray to hide cords, and an LED lighting groove for clean, integrated light. Also, Toden surfaces can accept typical wood fasteners, glues, paints, wood veneers, and even trim nails for any DIYers project needs.
