Most closet systems are built the same way, we've all seen all the variations on the same general themes: diagonal brackets with a brace every 16" or some sort of metal hanging strip to start and always end with flimsy shelves (wire or MDF) that are too narrow to be useful, like 12". You spend hours measuring, drilling in drywall anchors for u shaped closet rod supports and still end up with vertical blockades that stop hangers from sliding and a closet rod that flexes under weight when actually used.

The Toden Double Row Closet Kit is designed to address the core pain points to building any closet by using premium grade materials which don't bow or buckle. The two 16" deep, heavy-duty shelves are the same depths found in typical high-end closet designs and provide ample storage capacity for folded items without causing items to get lost at the back. Underneath the shelves are 2 channels that accept snap-fit closet rod brackets and the freedom to place closet rod brackets wherever you want. Closet rod brackets can be moved anytime without tools, and adjusted for extra support only where it matters—like heavy coats—without interrupting hanger glide across the rod.

All Toden surfaces also have a dedicated LED light groove built into the surface, so if you want to add lighting into any closet it's not just simple, you'll achieve a clean showroom look that is affordable, and actually aimed in front of your clothes (not over the middle). LED lights are not needed initially, the Toden product is designed so you can add those in at your own leisure, at any time, without a classy little upgrade becoming another weekend long project.

How it works

1. Mount the wall brackets into studs at your chosen heights (bracket spacing upt to 48").
2. Snap the Toden surfaces onto the brackets to create two sturdy shelves.
3. Snap the closet rod brackets into the under-shelf channel—anywhere along the row of shelving. Can be adjusted any time, without need for tools or fasteners.
4. Position rod brackets tight to the wall, or Up to ~10" off the wall to support a rod without needing wall rod flange/end cups.
5. Insert your closet rod (not included)
6. Add lighting (optional) using the integrated LED groove and wire channel, learn more about LED lighting for closets here
7. Change it later by snapping rod brackets out and relocating them—no tools required.

Is the closet rod included?
No. This kit includes the rod brackets, but not the rod itself—so you can choose the rod style you want and add additional closet rod brackets if needed.

Do I have to use closet rod cups for the ends or drill into drywall?
No. The rod is supported by snap-fit rod brackets in the under-shelf channel, not by end-mounted cups.

Can I slide hangers across the full rod?
Yes. Because Toden closet rod brackets can be added anywhere in the channel for added support we ensured no vertical blockades would interfere with hangers - slide hangers freely from end-to-end.

Can I add extra rod support for heavy sections?
Yes. Add additional closet rod brackets where you need more reinforcement (sold separately) without cluttering the entire run.

Can I add lighting?
Yes. The surface includes a dedicated LED groove. You can do this anytime, as the snap-lock pins are easily removed without tools for easy modification. Use a hardwired LED strip or a rechargeable motion-sensor light. See recommended products here.

Is this only for small closets?
No. For a master closet, use multiple kits or add surfaces to build longer runs—the benefits scale. Checkout extension sleeves to make longer closet runs.

How adjustable is it really?
The shelf heights are fixed once mounted, but the rod brackets are tool-free adjustable anywhere along the under-shelf channel.
